How to set out your leaves
- Do not put leaves out until one week before the program starts.
- Do not place leaves in the gutter or on the street. Put them on the grass behind the curb, close to the street edge. Keep them no more than two feet behind the curb.
- Do not put rocks, sticks, firewood, pumpkins, or other objects in the piles. They are very dangerous for our crews.
- Keep piles away from signposts, light poles, trees, and mailboxes.
- Do not let piles block storm sewers. Blocked sewers can cause flooding in heavy rain.
- Park vehicles at least 15 feet from both sides of a pile. Crews need safe access for their truck and leaf machine.
- Near the end of the season, have your leaves out at least one week before the program ends.

About the program
The program usually runs from October through early December. Each year, the village shares the start and end dates by print and e-newsletter, on social media, and on this website.
Stop raking leaves to the curb at least one week before the program ends.
Each season is different. An early frost or a heavy leaf fall can slow the crews. Thank you for your patience during heavy leaf fall or early snow. The village will tell you when crews are likely to reach your street.
Yard waste drop-off
When leaf collection is not running, you can drop off yard waste for free at the Village Compost. Questions? Call the village administrator, Jamie Davis, at 419-273-2500.
