Gormley Park is a picturesque retreat featuring scenic walking trails, inviting picnic areas, and fun-filled playgrounds. It’s the perfect spot for families and nature lovers to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.

Gormley Park is located along Mary Street on the east side of the Village and is home to the Jackson-Forest Fire Department’s annual Tree Town Festival held in July of each summer. It is one of the hidden treasures of our small community. Complete with playground equipment, softball/baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, a beautiful stocked pond, gazebo, and three pavilion buildings that can be rented for family reunions, birthday parties, etc. Gormley Park provides a fun, family atmosphere.

Pavilion Rental

Host an event at a park pavilion

There are three pavilions which may be rented for events.

East Pavilion is considered the open air pavilion. There is no electric to this pavilion. It can be used on a first come, first serve basis, or may be reserved for $15.00.

West Pavilion has doors and windows that may be opened or closed. This pavilion does have electric and is located in the heart of the park. It can be reserved for $15.00 deposit and rent for $30.00. The deposit is returned by mail (to the address listed on the contract) after the key is returned and the pavilion verified left in good condition.

All-Weather Pavilion has a full-functioning kitchen and serving area, tables and chairs with capacity to sit 115 people. We are proud to announce that air conditioning has been installed for relief in the summer months! There is a $50 deposit required to schedule your date. The current rental fee is $150. Rental fee is due when the key to the facility is picked up. Your $50 deposit is refunded by mail (to the address listed on the contract) upon return of the key and verification that the facility is left in good condition.

Youth Soccer

Ranger Sports Complex

The Ranger Sports Complex is housed on the site of the former Riverdale Forest Elementary School on West Dixon St., and is currently home to the Riverdale Youth Soccer Club. Riverdale Youth Soccer is a member of the Black Swamp Soccer League. The facility hosts soccer practices and games each spring and fall to teams from: Ada, Arlington, Bluffton, Findlay, Hardin Northern, Kenton, Liberty Benton, and VanBuren. The Complex is also home to the Riverdale Spring Classic Soccer Tournament held in May each year, and brings in over 2000 people in a single weekend to our Village.

The Riverdale Youth Soccer Club worked alongside the Village of Forest in 2011 to secure a Nature Works Grant that helped construct the new pavilion on the Complex. Complete with handicap accessible restrooms, concession area, and covered picnic area- the site is another example of the pride in our small town, and the commitment of the Soccer Club in our community.
