Emergency Response
The Forest Fire Department provides emergency response to the Village of Forest, Jackson Township (Hardin County), Jackson Township (Wyandot County), part of Goshen Township (Hardin County), part of Mifflin Township (Wyandot County), and part of Delaware Township (Hancock County). The Forest Fire Department also provides assistance to surrounding area departments, through mutual aid contracts.
The emergency operations carried out by the department include: fire suppression, hazardous materials response, rescue, response to natural disasters, and EMS assistance.
Non emergency operations of the Forest Fire Department include: Fire prevention and fire safety education classes for Forest Christian Preschool, Riverdale Elementary School, Forest Head Start and the Forest Library, fire extinguisher training for numerous local businesses, fire code enforcement, fundraising, etc. The Fire Department also sponsors numerous community events; including the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Gormley Park, Santa Claus at the firehouse, the annual Halloween Parade, and co-sponsoring the annual Tree Town Festival, along with the Jackson-Forest Emergency Medical Service.
