Village trash and recycling to be provided by Rumpke

Update: Rumpke will start dropping off bins Saturday 8/23/25 and Sunday 8/24/25.

On 8/14/2025, The Village of Forest Council made the decision to no longer utilize Republic for trash and recycling for the Village of Forest.  The Village will be moving forward with Rumpke Waste and Recycling.

Republic will be picking up trash on Monday, August 25, 2025.  Recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.  Republic is asking that you leave your trash and recycling bins out because they will need to remove them all.  Commercial Trash from Republic, will have dumpsters picked up on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. 

Rumpke will drop off new containers to residents and new dumpsters to commercial accounts.  Rumpke’s first trash pickup for residential accounts will be Friday, August 29, 2025. We do not have a date for commercial accounts, but will notify you as soon as we do.

Thank you for your patience during this transition in services. If during this transition, any bins, trash carts, or dumpsters are not delivered, please call us at 419-273-2500.

New Rates for Trash will show on utility bills for September. The new rates will be as follows:

• Residential trash – $22.23
• Senior citizen – $20.16
• Additional 95 – gallon cart- $3.50
• Additional 65 – gallon cart- $3.00

Commercial Trash:

• 2yd – $50.25 – Extra dump charge: $25 per occurrence
• 3yd – $66.50 – Extra dump charge: $35 per occurrence
• 4yd – $66.50 – Extra dump charge: $35 per occurrence
• 6yd – $99.00 – Extra dump charge: $45 per occurrence
• 8yd – $131.50 – Extra dump charge: $55 per occurrence
