Resolution #2025-11

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A NEW SANITARY SEWER RATE FOR THE VILLAGE OF FOREST, OHIO.

WHEREAS, the Village of Forest, Ohio endeavors to charge appropriate rates for its sanitary sewer rates to be able to keep its systems operational, and,

WHEREAS, Council of the Village of Forest engaged with the Raftelis company to perform a rates study to determine if the current rate charged is sufficient to allow for the ongoing operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system, and

WHEREAS, the study completed by Raftelis and presented to the Village of Forest, Ohio on or about October 31, 2025, indicated it was necessary to increase the current rate by 10% to produce the necessary income for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Forest, Ohio:

Section I. That the Village of Forest, Ohio, hereby is implementing an increase of the sanitary sewer rate by the recommended 10%, such that the new base rate (no usage) will be established at 27.31 per month, and the cost per 1,000 gallons used will be established at $8.84.

Section II. Consistent with Village of Forest Ohio Ordinance No. 2024-27, passed June 13, 2024, this increase, being more than 5%, will take effect the first billing cycle following ninety (90) days from the date this Resolution is passed by the Village Council
