Fire Hydrant Flushing Notice

Residents of Forest,

Beginning on September 14th Fire Hydrant flushing will commence and continue until September 18th. During this time, you may experience lower than normal water pressure and reddish or brown water. This is normal during this type of procedure. Please let your water run a little while to clear this out of your water lines should you experience this type of water.

We do this procedure annually as a preventive measure and to test the Fire Hydrants should they be needed in an emergency. This year we are adding a much needed step to the process. We will be conducting additional testing to measure the gallons per minute each hydrant is able to release and we are performing maintenance on the hydrants as well to ensure they operate as designed.
