Council Agenda for August 14, 2025

Council set the following agenda for the August 14th meeting.

Approval of Agenda for August 14, 2025: 

Approval/Corrections of Minutes: Approval of minutes from July 7, 2025

Bills: Approval to pay bills

Citizen’s Comments: Call 419-273-2500 to be added to agenda

Old Business:  Resolution 2025-05 needs amended.  The wrong fund number was entered on the original resolution.  The sewer fund was listed as 5102, but it should be 5201.

New Business:  Dave Book needs to be removed from all bank and loan accounts.  Derek Hastings needs to have approval to all bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and cd’s.  Derek Hastings needs to have approval to sign any financial documents on behalf of the Village of Forest. Fire Chief’s pay to be addressed.

Mayor:  D. Hastings to discuss current Mayor status/plan. New President to be elected.  Changes in committees. Update on meeting with Ty Matthews. Discussion on council meeting twice per month.

Human Resources: Have discussed to increase Village’s contribution to match Jackson Township for Fire Chief salary and benefits. Have been discussing council pay increases and cell phone reimbursement for employees.  Finance committee is to review.

Village Solicitor: Update

Fiscal Officer: Utility billing accuracy continues to be a focus.  Have had meetings virtually with new provider.  Working on reducing estimated bills.  Website continues to be improved upon.  Have added a submission area for community members to request events be added to website.  Also working on pavilion rentals to be accessed through the website as well.  Forms are to be added for easy access, such as zoning permits, garage sale permits, new utility service, park pavilion rental agreements.  We will continue to work on our website.
