HOURS: Village Hall is open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and contains the offices of Village Clerk-Treasurer, Income Tax Administrator, Utility clerk, Mayor, Police Chief and Village Administrator. Adjacent to Village Hall is the Jackson-Forest EMS and Fire Department.
GOVERNMENT: The Village of Forest consists of Mayor and six council members. The meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM.

Water bills should be received by the first of the month. Bills are due the 10th of the month. There is a 15% penalty after the 10th. Unpaid water bills will be disconnected the last day of the month.
INCOME TAX: There is a 1.25% income tax in Forest. Filing is mandatory
for all residents over 18 years of age whether or not a tax is due.
ZONING: Local zoning controls all new construction or reconstruction within the Village. Before constructing any building, sidewalk, drive, fence or sign consult with the zoning officer.
PARK: Parks and recreation are under the control of the Park and Recreation Board, which meets at 6:00 PM the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Secone Thursday only during winter months. Scheduling and fees for ball diamonds, pavilion rent and swimming pool and other activties are handled by the Park Board.
SHELTER HOUSES: Shelter houses are available for rental. Fees for the All-weather pavilion are $75.00 from April through September and $100.00 from October through March. There is a $30.00 deposit, which must be paid to reserve the pavilion. This deposit is refundable when the key is returned.
East and West pavilions are $15.00.
HOME (GARAGE) SALES: Permits are required for any home sale. Permits are $5.00 and can be purchases at the City Building during regular hours.

RECYCLING: The Village of Forest has curb side recycling. Recycling is collected on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. If there is a holiday in the week recycyling will be collected the next week.

Items not acceptable will be left.
Please make sure all items are clean and free of food. NO TIRES.
REFUSE: Trash must be out by 8:00 AM on the designated day to guarantee pick-up. There is a two bag limit each week. Any additional bags or refuse will require a sticker. One sticker equals one 33 gal. bag or 50 pounds. Stickers can be purchases for $1.00 each at the City Building and the library.
No ashes, used oil, or yard waste will be picked up. All garbage must be contained in garbage bags, boxes or trash cans.
